What does “plant-forward” mean?

 

So glad you asked! Plant-based, plant-forward, and plant-rich eating means that the majority of the food on your plate comes from plant sources including fruits, veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds.

Plant-based and plant-forward have become trendy and commercialized which means, the labeling isn’t always telling you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

We’re seeing highly processed, not-so-healthy products (you know, the plant-based “meats” and sauces with sketchy ingredients)!

At Roots & Roses, we do plant-forward cooking differently (and dare we say “right”?) so YOU can experience true nourishment and thrive. We use real ingredients and cook from scratch. Our produce is purchased locally, as much as possible, within a 20-mile radius. We create with seasonality in mind and use ingredients that are shelf stable with five whole food ingredients or less.

We use plant-based ingredients and whole foods that stay true to their original form.

Minimal processing means that you’re getting the most nutritious and natural plant-based meals available.
