Connection

This past weekend was a busy one for Roots & Roses and I was looking back on each event to see what I would add, change or discontinue.  My mind kept looping back to the words:  connection and community. 

On Friday evening, we teamed up with Stillwater Ranch Lavender Farm in Plymouth to host a dining experience. Due to forecasted rain, we moved from a grassy hillside with mountain views to a beautiful, dry barn where bundles of lavender wafted in the air.  The conversations and laughter were contagious and lively!

On Sunday, we catered an event for Camp Mowglis on Newfound Lake. Camp Mowglis has been in existence since 1903 and their  motto: A Place to Breathe, to Build, and to Belong. I love this! This overnight camp connects these boys with each other, the land and their community.

The pride with which the guests of the Bagheera Society (former Camp Mowglis campers) spoke reinforced within me the benefits of community. The stories of their camp experiences are unforgettable and traditions have been passed down year after year, generation after generation.

On Monday, our weekly prepared meals were delivered and I had the opportunity to visit with one of my special customers who have now become dear friends.

As I write this email, my heart is full. How incredibly lucky are we that we are able to connect with so many wonderful people doing what we love! 

As we move through the next few weeks of August, we are building new programs, planning events and continuing to offer our weekly prepared meals.  Creating connections will be at the heart of our programs.
