Spring Cleaning

Is there anyone else out there who is feeling like they need to “spring clean” their house? Rid themselves of unwanted clothes and send them to the local thrift store? Organize the pantry? Rehome furniture because what felt comfy and cozy in November is feeling claustrophobic in April?

This is me right now. This weekend, I’ve been sorting, moving, removing and setting aside items that I am not sure I can part with for good. Thankfully, we have a barn that I can place them in.

Yes, I hear you, if I move items to the barn, I am not really getting rid of them or, I am going to have to deal with them at some point.

The pantry is the bane of my existence. The shelves are super deep, and even though I organize at various times throughout the months, they become disheveled.

Has anyone watched the show “The Home Edit”? These women make it look incredibly easy to organize and I am always inspired.  If you haven’t watched this show, you should watch at least one episode, as it is inspiring but, these ladies are super energetic so be prepared!

Back to our pantry…upon rearranging, organizing and moving some items into storage bins, ideas were popping into my head for sauces, energy bars, and dressings. Last night, I was inspired to whip up a sauce for our roasted brussel sprouts. A mix of dijon mustard, maple syrup and apple cider vinegar.

This morning, I am making 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies. Medjool dates, peanut butter and oats. Best part, they are “no bake”!

Do you open your pantry and see your selection of items and wonder what items would work well for sauces, or a quick dinner?  At the end of April, our cooking series begins, three weeks of learning how to use herbs and spices to put that wow factor into your meals. We move into May with learning how to make quick sauces. I am excited about our Hidden Veggie sauce class where you will learn how to use potatoes, carrots and onions to create a cheese sauce or bolognese sauce containing at least six veggies!

Let your pantry be your friend.
